iOS 7, a new way of using iPhones and iPads?

iOS 7

Former Senior VP of iOS software development, Scott Forstall recently departed Apple, leaving the responsibility of revamping iOS to Jony Ive. With this change of leadership in mind, people are hoping to see some fundamental changes in the design of the UI.

Designer F. Bianco has posted some images and early thoughts about iOS 7 on Flickr. As Facebook Home reintroduces Android Home Screen, iOS 7 is seen as Apple’s approach to the new user experience. A new mode called ‘widget’ mode is expected. It allows users to see quick information or change app settings straight from the home screen. It also features a quickly accessible settings screen that can slide out from the side to quickly adjust settings. Interestingly, the rumored Windows Phone 8.1 also has the same design principle of changing settings with a few swipes. See here for the Windows Phone 8.1.

Nevertheless, iOS 7 has a video to demonstrate these changes in design.
